Transgender Week of Awareness runs from Sunday 13 November to Saturday 19 November, followed by Transgender Day of Remembrance on Sunday 20 November.
It’s a time to celebrate and empower our trans, non-binary and gender diverse whānau, and remember the trans people we’ve lost in the last year.
OutLine is excited to invite you to two special Trans Week of Awareness panel discussions, which will explore the theme of ‘Our Bodies, Our Stories’.
We’ll also be holding a service for Trans Day of Remembrance, which honours the memory of trans people around the world whose lives were taken in acts of anti-transgender violence.

Our Bodies, Our Stories: Informed Consent
Join us for a Zoom panel discussion on trans healthcare at 12pm, Monday 14 November.
We’ll explore the move away from a diagnostic and medicalised model of trans healthcare, to one that is accessible and based on self-autonomy and informed consent.

Our Bodies, Our Stories: Trans Narratives
We’re thrilled to host some of Aotearoa’s most inspiring trans creatives for a Zoom panel discussion on trans narratives at 6.30pm, Thursday 17 November.
Author Andi C. Buchanan (they/them), illustrator Sam Orchard (he/they), and performance artist Moe Laga (she/they) will discuss how transness influences their work, and read from their texts.

The service will be held at St Matthew’s at 132 Hobson Street, Auckland CBD. You can also watch a livestream of the service from anywhere in Aotearoa.
This year’s service is co-hosted by OutLine, RainbowYOUTH and the Auckland Rainbow Community Church.
